THE Apple and Pear Australia Limited (APAL) Post Harvest seminar was held in Melbourne recently.
The conference was attended by more than 100 APAL members who were updated on topics such as the links between pre-harvest management and post harvest quality; SmartFresh pears; the past 15 years with developments of dynamic controlled atmosphere and HarvestWatch applications; improved post-harvest disease control to prevent post-harvest losses; new technologies for managing maturity, and an overview of the most updated industry results.
Speakers comprised of local and well known experts in the horticultural field including horticultural advisor Marcel Veens and Victorian Agriculture specialists Dr Dario Stefanelli and Dr Robert Holmes and international guests Dr Robert Prange and Dr James Mattheis.
