QUEENSLAND'S citrus capital maintained a 60-year tradition last week with the Gayndah Orange Festival proving it's as popular as ever.
Thousands of people poured into the North Burnett town for the bi-annual festival which featured a week of festivities including last Saturday's street parade.
The parade's location moved this year, as did the entire festival’s timing from its traditional June dates, but neither seemed to deter crowd numbers.
Near perfect Autumn weather consisting of clear skies and comfortable temperatures provided an ideal setting for the event.
This year's theme, "Old, Bold and Gold" embraced and celebrated the history of the festival with many local businesses decorating and creating window shop displays.
Other festival highlights included the citrus games on Sunday which involved citrus eating, citrus throwing and citrus packing competitions.
The citrus theme permeated through to the arts community to with an orange sculpture competition and children's art competition.
Contract musterer and property manager, Rebecca Kenny, was crowned the 2017 Orange Festival Queen.
