CROOKWELL embraced everything potato-related earlier this month at the 7th Crookwell Potato Festival.
Additions to the festival included potato harvesting with a heavy horse at a cattle property, a demonstration of four generations of potato harvesting, an auctioning of the first box of Mayan Gold potatoes for the town and rock climbing for children.
Activities were held across locations including the Art Gallery, Library, Memorial Hall, Crookwell Services Club and St Bartholomew’s.
There was also a book fair, indoor and outdoor markets, jumping castles, a poetry competition, a quilt show and a Classic and Vintage Car Show.
As part of the annual Crookwell Potato Festival earlier this month, the first harvest of “Gold Crookwell Potatoes”, grown in the rich basalt soil of the Highlands, were auctioned off, reaching a top bid of $1000.
