A CELEBRATION of horticulture, turf, mixed farming and primary production in the Greater Sydney will take place on October 14 at the Greater Sydney Agriculture Industry Annual Dinner.
The event will bring growers, producers and industry representatives together for a night of networking, entertainment and information on how Greater Sydney Local Land Services was supporting its local agricultural industry.
Greater Sydney Local Land Services general manager, David Hogan, said the event was aimed at showcasing the diversity of the Greater Sydney agriculture market and fostering relationships and opportunities for growers and industry.
“Our region has a total gross agricultural production value of close to $648 million, almost five percent of the total production value in NSW,” Mr Hogan said.
“It is our role to work with growers, industry and the broader to community to ensure agriculture in our region remains productive and sustainable into the future.”
Directors of Australia’s leading vegetable seedling suppliers Leppington Speedy Seedlings John and Peter Vella are gold sponsors for the event.
Mr Vella said it was an opportunity for “growers and industry to come together in a more social setting.”
“It’s good to catch up with customers and colleagues in a social setting where you can relax and chat without the usual business pressures,” he said
“It is also an opportunity for the younger generation to meet with various industry partners while having a bit of fun.”
Mr Hogan said the event was open to any and all members of the Greater Sydney agricultural community.
“With strong sponsorship support from key industry groups, we hope to see a great cross section of representatives turn out to celebrate past achievements and toast to a productive and collaborative future,” he said.
Industry sponsors for the event include Leppington Seedlings (Gold) ANL (Entertainment) NSW Farmers (Silver) Irrigation Australia and Agsafe (Bronze) and Total Eden (Event supporter).
The Greater Sydney Agriculture Industry Annual Dinner will be held at the Hawkesbury Racecourse at the Hawkesbury Turf Club from 5.30pm.
