Sinapius Vineyard winemaker Vaughn Dell is the seventh recipient of the $10,000 Dr Don Martin Sustainable Viticulture Award.
Mr Dell, from Pipers Brook, will study the potential for alternative cool-climate grape varieties and wine styles for Tasmania.
He will visit vignerons in Austria, Germany and France, and focus on organic and biodynamic viticultural practices and minimal input winemaking techniques.
The $10,000 Don Martin Sustainable Viticulture Fellowship was initiated by the Alcorso Foundation to commemorate Tasmanian viticulturist Dr Don Martin.
The fellowship is awarded to Tasmanian wine professionals for study-based travel or research projects in viticulture and oenology.
