QUALITY is king.
That was one of the key messages reiterated by various speakers at the 11th Australian Mango Conference, held in Darwin today.
More than 100 mango industry stakeholders from throughout Australia and overseas met at the Port Denison Sailing Club for day one of the four-day event.
Several issues were covered on the first day of the conference, including supermarket trends, marketing issues, quality assurance and grower-wholesaler relationships.
Speakers reported on the significant progress mangoes as a food category have made in the past four years, as well as the lingering potential for further growth.
The event continues on this evening with a gala dinner.
