Mangoes met the beach at the annual Mango Mess-tival at Bondi earlier this month.
The Mess-tival marks the peak of Australia’s mango production and brings all the fun and mess of mango eating to the iconic beach.
North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club also benefited from the event, with $14,408 raised in donations during the Mess-tival fun.
Nippers and the public alike competed in mango eating competitions, blended their own drinks on a bike-powered mango smoothie machine, watched flowers being carved out of mangoes and queued up for delicious BBQ'd mango cheeks.
Mango growers from across the country were also involved, even if they were at the beach in person.
They donated trays of various mango varieties including Kensington Pride, R2E2, Calypso and Honey Gold for attendees to sample.
