PUNTERS backed more than just winning horses at the AustSafe Super Unifying Agriculture Charity Race Day last Saturday, with funds raised for both LifeFlight and the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
Now in its seventh year, the event drew hundreds to the VIP tent for an afternoon of fashion, fun and fundraising.
The industry super fund and Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers were joint partners for the annual event held at the Bundaberg Race Club.
AustSafe Super’s Central Qld regional manager, Tony O’Mara, said the fund was proud to be associated with the charity day given its history and ongoing connection with the agricultural sector.

“As the fund of choice for regional and rural Australia, we’re committed to supporting all things agriculture and this charity day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the valuable contribution the sector makes to Australia’s productivity,” Mr O’Mara said.
“It’s also a relaxing and enjoyable day out – everyone loves a race day. Crowds to the event are growing year-on-year.”
The day featured six races throughout the day, formed part of the Battle of the Bush Series, a Racing Queensland initiative allowing 16 horses from eight regions to qualify for a $100,000 final in Brisbane (Doomben) on June 23rd.
There was a charity auction in the marquee, as well as major raffle prizes with the proceeds being donated to LifeFlight and Royal Flying Doctors Service.
