THERE'S a new mover in the Australian political scene and he's bound to shake things up.
Or at least, give things a gentle rocking motion.
Independent Member for Plath, Trevor Slade, has promised to broadcast his weekly media conference every Friday morning via the Good Fruit & Vegetables Facebook page.
"I feel GFV is the perfect platform to provide a weekly update on my thoughts surrounding the issues or events that week," Mr Slade said.
"It's important to engage with not only the fine citizens of the electorate of Plath, but also those in the wider community as my messages resonate with all."
The fluffy-haired and fictional Mr Plath said he was "up for the challenge" of tackling the big issues, despite him being a little known member of parliament and largely unheard of outside his own electorate.
Some have even questioned his recognition within the electorate.
"Make no mistakes, I'm here to represent the people of Plath, whether they voted for me or not," he said.
"Of course, those that voted for me will have a membership card and therefore instant access to my office beside the Cash Converters store up the main street, but still; my door is partially open to all those who need to talk."
Mr Plath said he would adhere to his motto of "getting on with it" but did not actually specify what he was getting on with.
"I’m all about progress and getting the wheels of industry moving so this great country progresses forward," he said.
"For too long the political leaders have stood still on many issues and we need to pick up the pace and lift our eyes to the prize."
