THE Bowen Gumlu Growers Association held its Annual Gala Dinner earlier this month with organisers labelling it “one not to forget”.
Qld Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, Mark Furner, attended the dinner, along with a number of local and regional dignitaries.
But the most important guests of the evening were the Bowen and Gumlu growers and partners.
The Port Denison Sailing Club was transformed for the evening into a grand ballroom with the help of talented stylists Whitsunday Event Co and catering provided by Fish D’Vine.
A magical performance by Eric Summons had the whole room in tears of laughter with his tricks and jokes.
A raffle was held to raise money for the Bowen PCYC with the lucky winners walking away with beautiful local vegetable baskets and even a Webber Baby Q.
“It was great to see so many industry leaders present at our dinner and look forward to hosting again in the future,” association president, Carl Walker, said.
