THE leading ladies of Australia’s horticulture industry painted the town pink at the Hort Connections 2018 this afternoon, all in the name of a good cause.
The Women in Horticulture event, sponsored by Boomaroo Nurseries, raised funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in support of the mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, daughters, sons and friends affected by breast cancer.
It fitted nicely with this week being GO PINK week, where NBCF challenges all Australians to wear pink in support of those affected by breast cancer and raise funds for future research.

Ausveg deputy chair, Belinda Adams, said the Women in Horticulture event was held every year to recognise and celebrate the achievements and vital contributions of women in Australia’s rural and regional industries.
“We thought it was a wonderful opportunity for our horticulture industry to raise much-needed funds for breast cancer research,” she said.
Attendees also heard from Rachael Robertson speaking on leadership, and Liza Dale-Halett from Museums Victoria on The Invisible Farmer Project.
