PINEAPPLE growers showed they have just as much generosity as they do expertise at last week’s Elders 2018 Pineapple Field Days.
Growcom and the Australian pineapples industry had its annual field days with a great turn out of more than 150 growers, retailers and agronomists.
Attendees from across Qld and interstate converged in north Qld for the Elders 2018 Pineapple Field Days.
Members of the pineapple industry came from far and wide to the town of Rollingstone for the July 19-20 field days, visiting Pace Farming, Berra Farming and Accorsini Farm for field trials.

The Gala Dinner held in the Pace Farming packing shed welcomed esteemed guests Townsville deputy mayor Les Walker, Member for Hinchinbrook, Nick Dametto and Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Tony Perrett.
The night went out with a literal bang, featuring a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by Penrite Oil.
A spontaneous auction for a unique pineapple-themed fire pit, donated by A-Gas Rural, was held to raise money for the Townsville Cancer Centre.
Pineapple grower, Ken Fullerton Snr, outbid all delegates, taking home the coveted item for $2100.
The event concluded with an oversupply discussion forum to discuss the pineapple industry’s glut crisis facilitated by Growcom chief advocate, Rachel Mackenzie.
