A NEW Zealand fruit company is showing how product endorsement is done with a three-year sponsorship of a national rugby league team.
New Zealand's largest grower, supplier and marketer of fresh produce, T&G Global, has partnered with the National Rugby League (NRL) team, the New Zealand Warriors, to supply local fruit and vegetables every week for the next three years.
According the company, the team munches through 100 bananas, 80 oranges, 80 peaches, eight kilograms of grapes, 18kg of apples and 320 free range eggs in a one week.

Warriors' nutritionist, Alice Sharples, said the micronutrient content of fruits and vegetables plays an important role in maintaining health, optimising performance, energy production and recovery during periods of training.
"Fruit and veges play an important role in maintaining the health of our players and help optimise performance," Ms Sharples said.
"A lack of intake can lead to fatigue, muscle damage, lack of muscle strength and impaired immune function; all of which can have detrimental effects on training, recovery and performance."
