Benefit of proper fertigation agitation adds up

Adds Up Engineering is based in Bundaberg, Queensland and has built a reputation for customised products for farming operations.

One particular product to have found considerable popularity is the company's affordable mechanical agitator for mixing gypsum, magnesium, fertilisers and chemicals for injection into irrigation systems, known as Add-G-Tator.

Agitation is the mixing of product and water by changing direction of the product and water in the tank, not simply going round and round in a tank.

"Our unit is capable of aggressive agitation while mixing (contents turn over every two to three seconds in the tank) and then be able to reduce the speed of the agitation to a slow speed while pumping out," Mr Denton said.

"Having variable speed agitation suits every customer's needs."

The agitators are powerful and all stainless steel and all mounted from the top of the tank. This means they can run dry without any damage, with no more damaged pumps and leaky seals.

Adds Up Engineering now has three tank sizes: 1000L, 2000L and 5400L units.

This, coupled with an even larger range of pump sizes, gives a mix and match option to suit everyone's requirements.

There are also workers platforms with steps and railings, and platforms for pallets as well as stainless steel funnels and strainers.

The company can also supply "pump suction kits" for customers wanting to use the pump to suck in from a shuttle tank.

Everything is manufactured with "user-friendliness in mind and efficiency".

"The ability to inject a controlled amount of fertiliser to get the most value for money from your fertiliser programme and value for money while reducing the risk of leaching is important for every farmer and agronomist," Mr Denton said.

The business is also working on a soon-to-be-released lime capsule spray trailer tank.

"In the tradition of our spherical tank shapes, we are soon to supply trailer tanks with superior tank agitation, both mechanical and venturi, for products such as gypsum, lime/calcium et cetera " Mr Denton said.

"Our trailer tanks are ranging from 2000L, 3000L and 4500L. These lime capsule trailer tanks with their superior agitation, will be capable of supplying non-dissolving products for orchards for under tree spraying.

"The smooth design of these capsule tanks will also double as sprayer tanks in the orchards.
