NSW's Griffith area's wineries have gone face-to-face with some of the state's best, taking home gold medals in this year's state-wide wine awards.
Seven wines from across four wineries have picked up gold medals at the 2019 ICC Sydney NSW Wine Awards.
Dee Vine, De Bortoli and Nugan Estate all claimed two golds at the event, while Calabria Family Wines' 2018 Private Bin Montepulciano backed up from claiming the Australian Italian Varieties Wines Awards Champion of Show to claim the sole gold medal for the winery.
Dee Vine Estate senior winemaker Danny Toaldo said it was great to see the region achieve success when going up against some of the best wineries in the state.
"It is great to see the Riverina and alternate varieties do so well at a state level," Mr Toaldo said.
"The 2019 2 Monkeys Merlot is a new vintage release and to receive a gold medal is a feather a cap for this brand."
Dee Vine picked up golds for the 2019 2 Monkeys Merlot and their 2017 Nericon Durif - the sixth such accolade for the drop.
De Bortoli continued their accolades, with their 2017 Deen Vat 5 Botrytis Semillon and their 2019 La Bossa Pinot Grigio picking up golds.
De Bortoli estate manager Leanne De Bortoli said the accolades help to further increase the recognition of the region.
"We are thrilled two of our Riverina wines... have won gold medals at the highly sought-after 2019 ICC Sydney NSW Wine Awards," Ms De Bortoli said.
"This recognition helps to further raise the profile of the quality of wine produced from this region and of which we are very proud."
Nugan Estate also garnered a pair of gold medals of their own, with the winery's 2016 Manuka Grove Durif and their Cookoothama 2016 Limited Release Darlington Point Botrytis Semillon picking up top honours.

However, wineries will need to wait until October 18 to see if they claim any of the top trophies on offer at the show, with the awards show being held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
De Bortoli will be out to claim their third straight Best Sweet Wine trophy, with the winery claiming top prize in 2018 for their Noble One 2016 Semillon and in 2017 for their Noble One 2015 Semillon.
Just under 900 wines entered the 2019 awards, with 72 wines judged good enough to claim a gold medal.
