MORE than 800 delegates representing 43 countries have gathered in Brisbane this week for TropAg, the world's leading tropical and sub-tropical conference, which brings the best in research and innovation on plant, animal and food science together.
It was opened by Queensland agriculture minister, Mark Furner, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday morning.
He told the TropAg audience the agribusiness and food sector faced change at an unprecedented scale and pace, from consumer trends, digital disruption and population growth to the loss of fertile land and climate change.

Innovation is being explored across five streams at the conference - field crops, horticulture, livestock, nutritious food and agfutures.
Much of Queensland's latest on-farm technology and innovations are being showcased, including work at 34 research facilities and field research sites across Queensland.
