THE search is on for the best examples of tourism in the SA wine industry.
The Great Wine Capitals 2021 Best of Wine Tourism Awards are set to celebrate the resilience of the South Australian wine industry during one of the most challenging years in recent times, with a simpler application process to be used this year.
Primary industries and regions agriculture, food and wine executive director, Jo Collins, said it was remarkable seeing some innovative thinking by wineries to keep engaging with their customers during COVID-19.
"We know it's been a challenging time for the wine industry during COVID-19, so the program has been adjusted so it's easier to apply and participate in this year's awards," she said.
SA Wine Industry Association chief executive, Brian Smedley, said these awards would also recognise the resilience of the wine industry at this time with some wineries showing great ingenuity.
"Despite the difficult circumstances with COVID-19, they have displayed great diversification by setting up virtual tastings, tours and interactive online experiences," he said.
