To cope with weather extremes, Queensland-based company Enmach has designed highly durable agricultural storage and feeding silo systems with a lifespan of at least 20 years. These are manufactured at its headquarters in Bundaberg from materials such as polyethylene and stainless-steel.
Enmach is the only roto-moulder in Australia dedicated to manufacturing and installing independently Finite Element Analysis (FEA)engineered poly silos that are rated for cyclonic winds and load tested.
Its poly products are lighter than steel; have one of the world's best UV protection ratings; resist rust; and have compounded colour that will not fade or scratch off.
And - most importantly for Australian conditions - is the poly advantage of unbeatable durability.
Enmach has been in operation for 30 years and offers a suite of poly silos in capacities from one tonne to 50 tonnes - or 1.75 to 60 cubic metres.
These are suitable for bulk storage of a range of products and can be used in any industry, from mining to farming, water clarification, breweries and coffee roasters.
The Enmach range starts with the industry-leading, innovative Stakka Bin.
This product is the largest in its class at 1.75 cubic metres and will store about 1.3 tonnes of wheat grain or fertiliser.
These bins have a fully galvanised steel frame with extendable legs, an integrated ladder as standard and a stainless steel knife gate that will not buckle when the bin is full.
There are two heavy duty forklift pockets at the base of the unit, complete with a safety chain and a fully removable lid.
Some of Enmach's poly silo products are unique in that extensions can be added using further rings to the silo, thus increasing storage capacity at a later date.
Another great feature of the poly silos is they can be configured to store liquid, with the biggest able to hold 35,000 litres.
Poly liquid silos are ideal for storing molasses, or liquid supplement, to be used for feeding livestock in dry times, and can be engineered for service in water clarification and separation.
Enmach patented 60-degree cone silos - which have storage sizes from 27 to 57 cubic metres - are ideally suited to storing feed pellets and slow flowing products. The design has a unique reverse angle top section for increased flow.

Polyethylene has proved to be a winner in the manufacture of silos by reducing grain/feed spoilage and eliminating rust problems.
Poly silos are 10-30 millimetres thicker than steel and this helps to keep stored grain/feed cooler during the day.
At night, there is a more gradual temperature change inside the silo than with steel, which means slower dissipation of stored heat and less - or no - sweating.
Polyethylene also removes the threat of degeneration through rusting, as the silo bin is cased in a galvanized steel frame, with a stainless-steel knife gate at the base.
The Enmach silo storage system is delivered fully assembled.
Any bolts through the silo wall are all stainless steel, to further reduce corrosion risk.
Enmach offers up to a 10-year warranty on its poly silos and will deliver and install these in locations across Australia with crane-equipped trucks.
Trained drivers can erect and bolt-down a silo within hours.
