LONG established Brisbane produce wholesaler, Alfred E Chave has moved into the apple and pear category.
The company, which has produce trading roots back to the 1900s, has traded in many fruits and vegetables but this is a first foray into the pome division.
Alfred E Chave managing director Anthony Joseph said the company was constantly looking for opportunities that support and create value for its customers and suppliers while connecting everyday people with the best fresh fruit and vegetables.
"The addition of this new category sees us welcome some of Australia's leading apple and pear growers," Mr Joseph said.
"The Andreatta Family of Golden Valley Orchards in Stanthorpe, Batlow Fruit Co-Op, Prima Fresh, Freshmax Australia.

"We have a complete range of apple varieties that Australia has to offer: Red Del, Granny Smith, Royal Gala, Pink Lady and the amazing Kanzi.
"Which is complemented by a complete range of pears: Packham, Bosc, Jose, Williams, Corella, and the amazing PIQA Boo and Red Lantern pears."
Alfred E Chave is based at the Brisbane Markets, dealing in both domestic and international markets through its own temperature controlled air and sea freight packing facilities.

Experienced fruit trader Cameron Cooper, supported by his son Zach, will head up the apple and pear category.
