THE biggest event in Australian and New Zealand horticulture is almost here.
Ausveg and the International Fresh Produce Association A-NZ looks forward to welcoming delegates to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for Hort Connections from June 6-8, 2022.
Forging connections
HORT Connections 2022 kicks off with the welcome reception, which will take place on Monday, June 6 at 4:30pm.
Once formalities are completed, delegates can check out the trade show and speak with the leading companies and service providers in the horticulture industry.
The Boomaroo Nurseries-sponsored Women in Horticulture event returns on Tuesday June 7, featuring guest speakers Catherine Velisha, managing director of Velisha Farms and winner of the 2021 Boomaroo Nurseries Women in Horticulture Award, and Shanna Whan, chief executive officer and founder of Sober in the Country.
There will also be a chance to network and reconnect with industry members at the Nufarm Australia sponsored Happy Hour, which is taking place in the trade show from 5-6pm on Tuesday, June 7.
Trade show - the place to be
THE Hort Connections 2022 trade show, sponsored by Australia's Fresh Produce Markets, is refreshed and features an updated layout for ease of navigation and more networking opportunities.
The trade show will run for three days and is the not-to-be-missed opportunity for growers and delegates to visit companies exhibiting cutting-edge products and solutions and technological innovations.
Extended hours
THE Hort Connections team has extended the trade show's hours in 2022, with Tuesday unofficially known as "Trade Day".
The Exhibition Hall will be open from 9am until 6pm, with many conference activities centred around the trade show.
It will also operate on Monday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and Wednesday from 8am to 3:30pm.
Speaker sessions
JOINING 200 exhibitors in the Exhibition Hall will be engaging industry experts from right across the supply chain.
Hear from a range of presenters across a wide variety of topics that impact the fresh produce industry.
Headline speakers include Channel 7 Melbourne's resident meteorologist Jane Bunn, leading social commentator Bernard Salt and Vinomofo co-founder Justin Dry.
Drop by and listen to a variety of industry leaders, as well as updates from industry initiatives such as Growcom's Fair Farms program and Churchill Fellowship recipients, sponsored by Hort Innovation.

Farm tours
HORT Connections is pleased to offer two off-site farm tours, and a retail tour on Monday, June 6.
Information about visiting some of Queensland's leading horticulture facilities is available via the Hort Connections website.
The off-site farm tours are sponsored by the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Hort Connections speakers and exhibitors will showcase the latest research, technologies and innovations to offer new perspectives on how the industry can grow together.
Joint hosts, Ausveg and the International Fresh Produce Association A-NZ will welcome delegates to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 6-8, 2022.
All areas of horticulture will be recognised and celebrated at the conference, bringing together members from right across the vegetable, fruit and floral sectors.
Hort Connections will yet again highlight and display exciting new possibilities that will help to shape the industry - whether it be technological, financial, and labour solutions or environmentally sustainable options that are now available on the Australian market and beyond.

The National Awards for Excellence will be presented at the Hort Connections 2022 Gala Dinner.
This capstone event acknowledges and recognises the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies in the horticulture industry.
The Gala Dinner, sponsored by Costa Group, will be held on Wednesday, June 8 from 7pm.
