FARMERS and beekeepers are being encouraged to keep up to date with apiary industry news by subscribing to a free newsletter.
What’s more, there’s a chance of winning a free book.
Bee, honey and pollination industry program BeeAware is enticing growers and stakeholders to subscribe to its free, monthly e-newsletter with a competition that sees winners offered a choice of one of five books from the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC).
The books up for grabs are the Australian Beekeeping Guide, Fat Bees Skinny Bees, Bee Friendly, and Pollination of Crops in Australia and New Zealand.
There are five copies of each book available to win. Entrants must subscribe by July 3.
The website and newsletter have proven successful with beekeepers, growers and private stakeholders.
The newsletter includes updates on bee news and events from Australia and around the world; information on honey bee pests and diseases; the latest research on crop pollination; pollinators and pesticides in agriculture; and alerts of new pest detections and incursions affecting honey bees.
