BAYER hosted a watermelon and melon field day near Griffith on Wednesday to provide the latest information on varieties and issues facing the industry.
A range of speakers addressed various topics including product developments, crop protection and biosecurity.
Nunhems, the seed arm of Bayer, showcased its latest variety introductions across watermelon and melon categories such as “Golden” melon, “Crispy Pear” melon and “Premium” mini watermelon.
The event also incorporated information from Bayer’s vegetable seed divisions.
The company took the opportunity to highlight its beneficial bacteria Serenade Prime field demonstrations in melon and watermelons.
