ANOTHER generation of up-and-coming vegetable industry leaders have made the most of a networking opportunity at the Mercure Grosvenor Adelaide last night.

The Growing Leaders – National Vegetable Industry Leadership Program 2017 second residential session was held in South Australia to coincide with the three-day Hort Connections event.

The program management team and participants, plus key industry players enjoyed dinner and plenty of contact-making while attendees were also given an insight into the vision of the current Growing Leaders crop.

Barden Produce procurement officer, Roslyn Pennings, addressed the crowd with an insight into her journey into the vegetable industry.

She also spoke on the difficulties of dealing with recent weather impacts.

PEAQ Farms farm manager, Alex Russell, Victoria also spoke on the benefits he’d already received out of the program to-date.

He said he looked forward to the exciting future that the horticulture industry had.

The program is being funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia Ltd.
