WA is set to show off its best produce as part of the Heart of WA ball, this Friday.

WA produce will be showcased at the Heart of WA ball, which is hosted annually by WAFarmers at HBF Stadium in Perth, this year’s ball will be held this Friday, September 15.

For the first time, an indulgent six-course menu will be served at the event and each course will showcase WA produce.

WAFarmers president Tony York said this year’s event had a much stronger focus on representing WA produce.

“Local providence is increasingly important and this year we want to show the range and quality of produce from WA,” Mr York said.

Mr York said WA producers should be proud of their products and the dinner would provide the perfect night to show it off.

“It’s a hallmark of WA - being a leading exporter and producer of quality produce with a wide range,” he said.

Dinner will begin with an appetiser course of Linley Valley Pork and a tangy slaw.

The first entrée features beef carpaccio, supplied by Harvey Beef, which will be rolled, seared, thinly sliced and served at room temperature with French truffle, rocket salad and Cipriani dressing (an aioli dressing with beef stock, tobacco sauce, Worcestershire sauce and herbs).

For the second entrée, guests will be served a prawn and smoked salmon timbale, with avocado mousse, baby capers and micro herbs.

The prawns will come from Mareterram.

The main course will be veal, supplied by Mondo Meats and White Rocks, served two ways – as a tender, oven-roasted sirloin and osso bucco paupiette with parsnip puree, rainbow baby carrots, beetroot chips for a salty crunch, micro mustard herbs and a rich thyme jus.

The milk chocolate sphere filled with white chocolate mousse and raspberry coulis dessert is bound to be a favourite course.

The sphere will sit on a berry compote surrounded with chocolate and tarragon soil.

Cheese boards of Margaret River Dairy Company products, lavash, quince paste, muscatels and truffled honey will be served for guests to share.

The menu was designed by executive chef Andrew Dunn from Venues West.

Celebrity chef Alastair McLeod will MC the event.

WAFarmers is expecting about 450 guests for the event, up from the 330 guests last year.

Vegetarian meals will be available but a menu has not been decided yet as it is dependent on the amount of guests who opt for that choice.

The night kicks off at 6:30pm and a dress code of formal/black tie is required.
