THE chance to walk through the small tree - high productivity initiative research project in Bundaberg attracted some 120 people to the event yesterday.
The Australian Macadamia Society (AMS) hosted the afternoon event at the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF) research station.
After several presentations focussing on the glowing future of the macadamia industry, delegates were invited to wander the trial orchards hear from QDAF researcher, John Wilkie, who gave result details.
The field walk was followed by a dinner in the evening, celebrating Bundaberg becoming the largest macadamia-growing region in Australia.
The day tied in with Fairfax Media's Food Heroes initiative which involved the Queensland Country Life and Good Fruit & Vegetables.
