THE Bundaberg area continues to embrace the future of macadamia nuts, as shown at today's MacGroup meeting.
A group of about 80 growers, workers and industry stakeholders attended the information and field walk at the Qld Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Research Station.
The event focused on how to increase productivity during harvest. It also delivered updates on the latest research and development projects that are changing the face of the industry.
Industry experts, scientists and also representatives from the peak industry body (the Australian Macadamia Society) covered key topics including ground cover management to improve harvest efficiency, the latest on-farm trials, and information about new macadamia tree varieties available to growers.
